Estate Planning

Estate Planning - There is very little more important than ensuring that the ones we love are taken care of in the event of our death or disability. Often, estate planning is considered to be for the elderly, and it can be, but it's much broader than that. Parents with young children can often benefit the most from estate planning. Even for older individuals, there are specific rules surrounding transfer of assets, planning for long-term, end of life care, and how to protect your assets in the most effective and ethical way forward. The time to plan is not when you need to have a plan, but years prior. Estate planning can include wills, trusts(both revocable and irrevocable), durable, medical, and financial power of attorney, and guardianships.

Probate

Probate - While estate planning is incredibly important before someone's death, the probate process often kicks in after. Executing an estate, filing a will with the Court, navigating when a loved one does not have a will, all the way to the settlement of an estate. Additionally, obtaining a guardianship over a loved one in a medical crisis, who is struggling with dementia/Alzheimer's or otherwise unable to care for themselves/make decisions for themselves is also adjudicated in the probate court. Attorney Robinson offers competent and compassionate guidance to families navigating all the complexities of probate.
